Upholstery Head

**Position Overview** We are seeking a skilled and experienced Upholstery Head to lead our upholstery department within the Furniture Division. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in furniture upholstery, excellent leadership abilities, and in\-depth knowledge of materials, production techniques, and quality standards. This role involves overseeing the entire upholstery process—from frame preparation to final finishing—ensuring timely, high\-quality output that meets the factory’s design and production goals. **Key Responsibilities** * Supervise, train, and manage the upholstery team to ensure efficient production and high\-quality craftsmanship. * Plan and coordinate daily upholstery activities according to production schedules. * Review design drawings and specifications to determine upholstery materials, cutting patterns, and assembly techniques. * Ensure proper selection and usage of fabrics, foams, leather, and other upholstery materials. * Oversee quality control at all stages of the upholstery process. * Work closely with the design and carpentry teams to align upholstery execution with design intent. * Troubleshoot technical or quality issues related to upholstery work and propose corrective actions. * Maintain inventory levels of upholstery materials and coordinate with procurement for timely supply. * Monitor productivity, set performance targets, and ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping standards. * Support continuous improvement initiatives in processes, ergonomics, and material utilization. **Qualifications \& Experience** * Diploma or degree in Furniture Technology, Interior Design, or related technical field. * Minimum 5–8 years of experience in furniture upholstery, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or head position. * Deep understanding of upholstery techniques, materials, foam densities, and cutting/sewing methods. * Strong leadership and team management skills. * Ability to interpret furniture drawings and technical specifications. * Knowledge of production planning, workflow optimization, and quality assurance. * Good communication and coordination skills with cross\-functional teams. **Preferred:** * Experience in both modern and classic upholstery styles (fabric and leather). * Familiarity with automated upholstery tools and machinery. * Exposure to custom furniture production or high\-end hospitality projects. The job holder will be responsible for maximizing sales through exceptional customer service. The job holder will also be responsible for maintaining the desired retail operations, customer service, replenishment, recovery standards for his/her assigned department in the store in all aspects.
