Job Summary: The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for managing and reviewing daily accounting and financial operations, preparing financial reports and statements, and ensuring record accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and policies. Ensuring record accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and policies **Purpose of the Role:** The Senior Financial Accountant manages and reviews daily accounting and financial operations, prepares financial reports and statements, and ensures record accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards, financial policies, and Kuwaiti financial regulations. **Main Duties and Responsibilities:** * Manage and review daily journal entries and accounting operations, ensuring their accuracy. * Prepare and review closing accounts, financial statements, and periodic financial reports. * Execute and review bank reconciliations and general ledger accounts. * Manage customer and supplier accounts, and monitor balances and receivables/payables. * Prepare accrual, expense, revenue, provision, and adjustment entries. * Monitor accounts receivable and payable, ensuring transactions are recorded in the correct accounting period. * Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. * Prepare account analyses and review financial variances and deviations. * Monitor cash flows and prepare liquidity-related reports as needed. * Review invoices and financial documents to ensure compliance with approved policies. * Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide required documentation and information. * Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities. * Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial policies, and internal controls. * Monitor fixed assets, depreciation, and related asset register updates. * Review inventory accounts, reconciliations, and variances in coordination with relevant departments. * Prepare financial and management reports for senior management. * Utilize **ERP** systems and accounting software to record and analyze financial transactions. * Propose improvements to accounting procedures and controls to enhance efficiency and reduce errors. * Maintain confidentiality of financial data and information, and comply with applicable financial laws and regulations in the State of Kuwait. **Required Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * **5 to 8 years** of experience in financial accounting, including supervisory-level or advanced responsibilities. * Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (**IFRS**). * Experience in preparing financial statements and reports, and conducting monthly and annual closings. * Experience with **ERP** systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics is an advantage. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and financial analysis. * Professional certification such as **CPA, ACCA, or CMA** is preferred. * Knowledge of applicable tax and financial requirements and regulations in Kuwait is an advantage. * Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is preferred. **Skills and Competencies:** * Financial accounting and reporting. * Account and financial data analysis. * Reconciliation and closing preparation. * Financial auditing and review. * Budgeting and forecasting. * ERP and Excel system usage. * Analytical thinking and problem-solving. * Accuracy and attention to detail. * Time management and adherence to deadlines. * Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams. * Confidentiality and professional integrity.
