About the Role
KMP Nusantara is seeking a vision\-driven and strategic Archipelagic Development Director to lead our maritime, island infrastructure, and coastal development initiatives in Kuwait and the broader regional marine sector. In this senior executive position, you will oversee large\-scale archipelagic planning, island connectivity, coastal infrastructure projects, marine transportation networks, and sustainable maritime land\-reclamation strategies. You will align complex engineering, environmental compliance, and commercial frameworks to deliver transformative coastal and marine infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning \& Development: Define and execute master\-planning strategies for island infrastructure, waterfront developments, marine transport hubs, and coastal economic zones.
Maritime \& Coastal Engineering Oversight: Direct multidisciplinary engineering teams through the feasibility, design, regulatory approval, and construction phases of coastal, port, and archipelagic infrastructure projects.
Government \& Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with Kuwaiti ministries, port authorities, environmental bodies, and international infrastructure partners to secure permits and advance public\-private partnerships (PPPs).
Environmental \& Marine Compliance: Enforce rigorous environmental impact standards, marine conservation protocols, and compliance with Kuwait Environmental Public Authority (EPA) regulations and international maritime codes.
Commercial \& Operational Leadership: Oversee project budgets, capital expenditure (CapEx) planning, vendor selection, and concession contracts to ensure long\-term asset value and operational ROI.
Team Governance: Lead, mentor, and grow a specialized team of marine engineers, urban planners, environmental specialists, and project managers.
Qualifications \& Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marine/Coastal Engineering, Maritime Studies, Civil Engineering, Urban \& Regional Planning, or Business Administration.
Experience: Minimum 12–15 years of progressive leadership experience in large\-scale marine, coastal, port, or island development projects, with at least 5 years in a director\-level or senior executive role.
Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of coastal protection structures, marine dredging, port/ferry terminal operations, island logistics, and marine environmental regulations in the GCC or Southeast Asian maritime sectors.
Skills: Exceptional executive leadership, high\-value contract negotiation, public\-private partnership (PPP) development, and environmental risk governance.
Language: Professional fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in Arabic or Bahasa Indonesia is a strong advantage.
