Careers at American University of Kuwait Hawali, Kuwait Ref:JB5395392 **New** #### **Job Description** **Department:** Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness **Reports to:** Director of the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness **Scope and Purpose:** The Data Analyst will support the university’s data\-driven decision\-making by collecting, cleaning, validating, and analyzing data from institutional systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability. The role is responsible for preparing analytical reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that inform leadership, support accreditation requirements, guide strategic planning, and enhance institutional performance and effectiveness. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** * Managing and analyzing datasets using SQL, Excel, and data analysis tools. * Designing, administering, and evaluating surveys to generate actionable insights. * Translating analytical results into clear findings for both technical and non\-technical audiences. * The position requires strict adherence to confidentiality, ethical data standards, and data governance practices to safeguard institutional information and ensure responsible use of data. #### **Qualifications** **Education**: * Bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. **Years of Experience**: * Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required, preferably in higher education. * Advanced knowledge in SQL and programming. * Oracle certified developers are preferred. * Knowledge of Ellucian Banner and/or Explorance Blue systems is considered an added value. * Fluency in both Arabic and English speaking, reading, and writing. **Skills/Abilities:** * Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, cleaning, and validation. * Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications for reporting and presentations. * Proven experience in data cleaning, data accuracy checks, and quality assurance. * Experience in survey design, data collection, and analysis using tools such as Blue, SurveyMonkey, or similar platforms. * Ability to analyze, interpret, and present data clearly to support decision\-making. * Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau) is an advantage. * High attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and confidentiality when handling data. #### **Job Details** Job Location Hawali, Kuwait Job Role Administration Employment Status Full time Employment Type Full\-time staff #### **Preferred Candidate** Career Level Entry Level Residence Location Kuwait Degree Bachelor's degree
